Everything you need to know about using Changolog

Getting Started

Set up your changelog widget in 5 minutes

  1. Sign up for an account - Create your free account at changolog.com/signup
  2. Complete onboarding - Set your company name and customize your widget
  3. Install the widget - Copy the installation code from Widget Settings
  4. Create your first changelog - Write and publish your first update
  5. Customize as needed - Adjust colors, position, and settings to match your brand

Installation

Add the widget to your website

Add this code to your website before the closing </body> tag:

<script src="https://changolog.com/widget.js" data-widget="wdg_your_widget_key"></script>

You can find your unique widget key in the Widget Settings page of your dashboard.

Widget Customization

Make the widget match your brand

You can customize your widget in the Widget Settings page:

  • Brand Color: Match your primary brand color
  • Position: Choose from four corner positions (bottom-right, bottom-left, top-right, top-left)
  • Logo: Add your company logo (optional)
  • Powered by: Toggle the "Powered by Changolog" branding

Creating Changelogs

Write and publish product updates

  1. Go to the Changelogs page in your dashboard
  2. Click "New Update"
  3. Fill in the title, select a category, and write your content using the rich text editor
  4. Add an image if desired
  5. Choose to publish now, schedule for later, or save as draft
  6. Click "Publish" when ready

Your users will see a notification badge when you publish new updates, and they can react with emojis and mark updates as read.

Analytics

Track your changelog performance

The Analytics page shows you:

  • Total views across all changelogs
  • Total reactions (👍, ❤️, 🎉)
  • Number of published updates
  • Individual changelog performance
